There is no doubt that heating costs are a tremendous burden on the cost of living in today’s cash-strapped economy. As more and more Americans face an increasing credit crunch, the costs associated with our very survival are becoming more and more unbearable, and our incomes are not increasing at a rate fast enough to meet the demands on our money.

One of the biggest expenditures for Americans is the cost of heating water and their homes. Whether you rent a home or apartment, or own your own, home and water heating costs can account for 40% of our monthly and annual bills – sometimes even more in the winter months. This percentage could also grow even higher as oil prices continue to reach all-time highs. In fact, recently the price of crude oil hit $100 a barrel, driving the prices of fuel oil, natural gas and other heating fuels higher overnight.

Water is one of the most important things in people’s lives. In some cases, people might need hot water in some of their activities. This makes them need a heating appliance that is fast and efficient. There have been several methods of heating and there are still others who are developing better heaters. Because of the new water heating technology, the tank-less water heater has been developed. It is also called the stand-alone appliance and is mostly used to heat water for domestic use. It has been in the market for over 30 years and has been well accepted and put to use in many places like China, Japan and the United States. This has come as an improvement to the prior water heaters which were conventional.

There are several reasons to use the tankless water heater. These include the speed of heating water, which is very fast. The conventional water heaters in the tanks keep heating water all through the day. As for tankless water heaters, no tank is required and only the needed water is heated. This saves much heat, which could have been used when heating water using conventional water heaters. This system of heating is more…

A tankless water heater is a European standard which is only slowly coming across the ocean to North America.

The basic concept is that a section of water pipe is insulted and heated, such that when the hot water is turned on anywhere, the heater engages and the water, by the time it travels through the heated section of pipe, is hot when it emerges. This can result in *huge* energy savings, since a large quantity of water isn’t sitting with heat constantly being pumped into it. The downside most common cited is that it takes a short period of time before the hot water actually arrives *hot*… the volume of water that is already in the pipes when the tap is turned on will only be slightly warmed (water must travel the entire length of the pipe to arrive at the proper temperature, so water which is already part way down the pipe will only be partially heated).

However, there are several easy fixes for this problem. The simplest (and most common) is to leave the hot water running for a few seconds before using it. Turn on the shower, brush your teeth, and by the time you’re done more…
